I presented “The Top Myths about International SEO,” a Mozinar (webinar) at Moz. About 600+ registrants for the webinar tuned in, and potentially thousands will view the recording in the future. It was a great experience to share my knowledge about international SEO with a wider audience. You can view the slidedeck below, and the transcript is available on Slideshare. A full, written version of the talk will be published soon as well. (Note that in order to view the video, you’ll have to register for a free Moz account first).
Update July 2016: I also published a blog post on Moz to the same effect as this webinar. So if you’d prefer to read the full blog post, check it out here.
TL;DR … Here’s the summary:
International SEO can be a tricky subject, even for SEO experts. Kaitlin McMichael, International SEO Strategist at Getty Images, will discuss some of the persistent myths surrounding international SEO. She’ll address how best to build and execute a solid international SEO strategy, including the importance of choosing the right site structure for your business, localization as it relates to ranking, which language tags you need to use, and more.
I think people liked the presentation, and there were some great questions during the Q&A session at the end. I liked this quote and image from @BlueCorona on Twitter:
In addition to my SEO services, I also provide international SEO consulting. So if you’re wondering more about how best to structure your site or sites for an international audience, please get in touch with me.
